Thunderbolt™ 5 uses the same USB-C connector as USB4. What sets it apart is the guarantee, not the plug. Certification requires every device to support PCIe, DisplayPort, USB, and power delivery together. Unlike USB, those capabilities do not vary by implementation.

Validation covers signal integrity at full speed, consistent storage performance, display output, power delivery, sleep/wake and reconnect behavior, DMA protection, and interoperability with other Thunderbolt hosts, cables, and devices.

Built for Editing and Playback

Pegasus5 is built for digital media storage: multi-stream editing and smooth playback of 4K, 6K, and 8K content. Pegasus5 R12 Pro is purpose-built for 8K editing, VFX rendering, and high-end production, where capacity and speed have to arrive together. The same sustained performance also suits other data-intensive workloads, including AI pipelines.

PromiseRAID with Predictive Data Migration

PromiseRAID hardware protects performance and data. Predictive Data Migration watches drive health, flags risk early, and moves data off a drive before it fails. Flexible RAID options balance protection and speed on the HDD array and, on R12 Pro, SSD project storage.

Smart Power Management

If the host sleeps, shuts down, or the Thunderbolt™ cable is disconnected, Pegasus5 enters a reduced power state and recovers cleanly on wake or reconnect.
