HSINCHU, Taiwan, October 4, 2016 – Next week at Cloud Expo Asia, Promise Technology will be showcasing its newly announced VSkyCube Hyperconverged Infrastructure solution running VSkyMotion, VSkyStor and VSkyBox enterprise applications. Ideal for businesses looking to increase scalability, agility and improve administration efficiency while managing costs, VSkyCube is designed with a scale-out approach and combines tightly-coupled software-defined computing, storage and networking in the form of hyperconverged nodes. Demos of VSkyCube and its suite of enterprise applications will take place in Promise’s booth (M13) on the show floor at the Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Center in Singapore from October 12 - 13.
According to IDC, Hyperconverged Infrastructure is the fastest growing segment of the converged (commodity-based hardware) infrastructure market. Hyperconverged platforms not only enable businesses to rapidly deploy IT workloads and scale IT infrastructures for growth, but also capitalize on the idea of a ‘lean enterprise’- giving the ability to do more with less. VSkyCube is a new generation of Hyperconverged Systems optimized for small and medium enterprises that scales exceptionally well for large data centers as well.
At Cloud Expo Asia, Promise will show its latest enterprise applications for VSkyCube, including VSkyMotion. VSkyMotion is a platform software that runs on top of VSkyCube and enables the capability of the VSkyCube cloud infrastructure to achieve maximum cloud agility on either an on-premise or a hybrid cloud environment. VSkyMotion mobilizes enterprise applications with P2V and V2V workload migration among different on-premise and cloud environments, including Physical Window/Linux, VMware vSphere, and AWS. Furthermore, VSkyMotion integrates a Disaster Recovery (DR) solution to allow for automatic fail-over to a secondary site for business continuity.
In addition to VSkyMotion, Promise will showcase VSkyCube’s enterprise applications VSkyStor and VSkyBox:
- VSkyStor: A highly cost-effective scale-out NAS storage solution, with both legacy file interface (via NFS/CIFS/FTP) and native file interface (via POSIX). VSkyStor provides file access to UNIX and Linux filesystems via NFS, and to Windows servers via CIFS.
- VSkyBox: Enterprise File Sharing and Synchronization (EFSS) application that requires no separate storage tier, and can scale to multi-petabytes and thousands of users. VSkyBox offers advanced, enterprise-grade security and centralized management features such as remote wipe, two-step verification, remote backup and group management.
Additionally, Cloud Expo Asia attendees can join the presentation from Ken Dai, the General Manager of Promise’s Cloud Business Unit, on October 13 from 13:45 – 14:10 in the Virtualisation, Infrastructure, Storage & Software Defined Data Centres and Networks Theatre. The presentation will focus on how businesses, especially SMBs/SMEs with limited budgets and IT human resources, can select and efficiently deploy Hyperconverged Systems to gain agility, scalability, high availability, and administration efficiency for the IT infrastructure while managing costs.
