How To Deploy

PROMISE Solution Setup Overview

Group	Name given to this camera group.
Quantity	Number of cameras in this group.
Encoding	Select the type of video encoding. Current supported encodings are H.264, Motion JPG (MJPEG) and MPEG4.
Resolution	Select resolution of cameras in this camera group. Select closest resolution, if the desired resolution is not enlisted.
Video Quality	Video quality of the camera is determined by compression ratio. Select the quality of video. Higher quality indicated better picture quality and bigger data size.
Frame Rate	Select recording Frame Per Second (fps) rate of cameras. Higher frame rate allows user to track each movement of the recorded object, while lower frame rate may have loss of vital events and action. Higher frame rate creates more data.
Bit Rate	Recording Bit Rate is approximate data per second produced by a camera. This value is calculated by the application, based on other camera settings. This field is also user editable, user can specify any value as per the requirement.
Recording Rate	Recording rate is approx percent of time the camera will be recording videos. This is a useful value when motion detection is enabled. 100% means all data from all cameras are recorded all the time.
Remote Live View	Expected percentage of Live view streams.
Hours to Record	Number of hours per day video from cameras will be recording. This value remains same throughout all camera groups.
Days to Record	Recorded data retention period in days. This value remains same throughout all camera groups.

Advance Setting allows you to select Video Management Software, as well as advance installation settings, like server failover, server clustering, etc.

VMS Selection	Select the Video Management Software for this installation.
NVR Function Options	NVR function describes what roles are performed by the Vess A-Class in the recommended topology. The Multipurpose function means the NVR is performing the basic role as a recording server, AND simultaneously performing live view, playback, video motion detection, archiving, and various other functions. The Multipurpose function requires more CPU resources than Recording Only, so this impacts the project design calculation and the recommended topology.
High Availability Options	Promise Surveillance Planner helps you to plan for High Availability options. High Availability options include both PROMISE provided solutions as well as VMS supported.

PROMISE solutions allow user to select specific PROMISE appliance for installation purpose. PROMISE surveillance planner can auto-calculate and recommend best solution, if left unspecified.

Video Surveillance Appliance.	Select the desired NVR Storage Appliance. "Auto" setting will select appropriate Vess A system, as it fit input settings.
External RAID storage.	Select the desired RAID Storage Subsystem for expansion. "Auto" setting will select appropriate Vess R system as required by the input settings.
RAID Storage Subsystem ON-OFF	This option allows user to include NVR Storage Appliance only. In a situation where additional storage is required, NVR Storage Appliance will be included, instead of RAID Storage Subsystem.
Calculate	Press Calculate button to calculate the recommended appliances and suggested topology.
